Grand Opening for the Teahouse Studying for midterms and need a late night snack? Grown tired of Lucie Stern's Late Nite pizza? Craving for some dim sum? Well, look no further than to the Teahouse. An on-campus Asian American restaurant located next to Okada in Wilbur Hall, the Teahouse will be having its Grand Opening on Thursday, January 18, 1996, from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am. A student-run operation, the Teahouse serves the Stanford community with a large selection of Asian cuisine, including baos, sui mais, egg rolls, fried rice, samosas, and sushi. Prices range generally from 50 cents to $1.50. This quarter's Teahouse sports new furniture and new items to the menu. "We've added some more items to further diversify our menu," remarks Randy Lau, one of the managers for the Teahouse. One of the managers' main goals this year is to raise campus awareness of the Teahouse. "We were regularly bumping into people from West Residences or Roble who had never heard of the Teahouse," states Adam Tow, another manager for the Teahouse. "We would like the Teahouse to become a locale where everyone feels comfortable and welcome." The Teahouse is regularly open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am. Groups interested in working at the Teahouse Winter and Spring Quarter should contact Mimi Wu (mimiwu@leland), Randy Lau (napalm@leland), or Adam Tow (atow@leland) for further information.
