Blowfish

Is Blowfish Sushi in San Francisco worth the money? Not in my book it is.

Happy New Year! On the 2nd of January, I went with Rae, Steven, Susan, Patrick, Bryan, and Elisa to Blowfish Sushi in San Francisco (there's also a location in Santana Row in San Jose). The place is a typical high-priced Asian fusion restaurant. There was loud music playing in the background, along with large tv's showing the Animatrix and Akira. The appetizers and sushi dishes all looked dazzling and artfully prepared, but the taste left much to be desired. With food, there's a fine balance between quality, price, quantity, and presentation. While Blowfish gets high marks for presentation, the restaurant gets docked for quality and price. I had ordered some sashimi and found them to be a little too slimy and cold for my taste. I suspect a lot of the taste was drained away because the sashimi were sitting on a bed of crushed ice. To Blowfish's credit, the desserts were pretty good.

After dinner, Steven, Susan, Bryan, Rae, and I went over to Romeo 5 for a quieter venue in which to converse.

I haven't been to Aqua yet, but I heard that it's good (and pricey).

Maybe you can check out Kiki Japanese Restaurant, www.kikisushi.com They have a grand opening special right now and it's pretty tasty. Got 20% discount (postcard) from their website sent by snail mail.

There's a cheap and good sushi place in Pacifica u should try one day too.

First time customers. Had the Grand Opening Combo Box B at Kiki 1269-9th Ave. SF tonight with family. Some had the Box A. Very good dinner for the price! Service was a little slow, though. Full house. Had to wait 20-25 minutes.

QUESTION got you folks:

The receipt at the bottom asked this:

WANNA GET DISCOUNT COUPON?
LOGON TO KIKISUSHI.COM

Website had pictures of food and people, but where\'s
the DISCOUNT Coupon?
