Michael graduates from the Primary Care Associate Program at Stanford.
Elaine's husband, Michael, graduated from the Primary Care Associate Program at Stanford on Friday afternoon. The program's mission is "to train physician assistants and family nurse practitioners for practice in primary care and underserved communities" and to "increase the enrollment and deployment of underrepresented minorities while being responsive to internal and external community needs."
I was already on campus for my Fellowship work, where I'm experimenting with combining Soybo with Ovolab's Phlink telephone adapter software and hardware. I stopped by Dinkelspiel Auditorium at 2:00 pm but learned that the program wouldn't start until 3:00 pm. I went to the Post Office to check my mail, followed by a quick jaunt to the Bookstore. I ran into Brent Silver, a former DoDots co-worker on the second floor. He just returned from a three-month backpacking trip to New Zealand. Brent told me that he just took a small backpack with him, not one of those expedition-sized packs you see a lot of backpackers in Europe sporting. I've learned to pack light over the years, but I've never gone on a three-month trip with only a small backpack!
It was nice seeing Elaine again, along with Michael, his mother and grandmother, and Elaine's mom and brother. Now that Michael has graduated, it looks like the next time I'll see Elaine is when I'm back in San Diego. Till then, some photos!
