Foundation Systems was founded in 1994 in San Diego, California. Originally a Newton software development house, Foundation Systems quickly moved into the emerging mobile marketplace. Over the past few years, the company has helped to develop a number of cutting edge technology products, such as the Palm VII™ and i705™ wireless connected organizers from Palm and the OmniSky Palm V wireless handheld.
The company has clients from over 22 different countries across the globe. In March 2000, Foundation Systems released most of its remaining software packages for the Newton and Palm into the public domain, complete with source code. It is the company's hope that others will find utility from both using the products and incorporating its code into new applications.
